The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Students to Service Loan Repayment Program (S2S LRP) provides up to $120,000 to medical students (MD and DO) in their final year of school in return for a commitment to provide primary health care full-time for at least 3 years or half time for at least 6 years at an approved NHSC site in a Health Professional Shortage Area of greatest need.

The 2015 National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Students to Service Loan Repayment Program (Students to Service) application cycle is now open. Eligibility extends to allopathic and osteopathic medical students in their final year who are interested in primary care and improving access to care in underserved communities. Recipients of the Students to Service award receive up to $120,000 tax free in tuition and loan repayment in exchange for three years of full-time service or six years of part-time. Service begins after the students complete their residencies, at which time recipients of the award go to practice as primary care providers in an NHSC-approved site in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA). Last year, 87 awards were made. The deadline to apply for the 2015 Students to Service application cycle is November 13.
